80s musicians Stan Bush and Vince DiCola are set to perform on March 14, 2026 at TFCon 2026 in Los Angeles, California. TFCon is the annual convention that brings fans of the Transformers franchise together!
Stan Bush began his career with his first studio album in 1979 with a band called Boulder. Bush was primarily a guitarist for that band before the group split in different directions after releasing only one self-titled album. It was not long after in which he got his first solo album deal with CBS Records and released the self-titled Stan Bush album in 1983. Four years later on Scotti Bros Records, he would release his most successful album to date with Stan Bush & Barrage, which is the album that featured ” The Touch”. Other notable works include the songs “Never Surrender”, “Streets of Siam”, and “Fight for Love” from the movie Kickboxer, and “On My Own – Alone” and “Fight to Survive”, the theme from Bloodsport.
But, most notably, Stan Bush is famous in the realm of the pop culture world for performing 2 tracks for The Transformers: The Movie Soundtrack which include “The Touch” and “Dare”.
DiCola began his professional music career upon moving to California in 1981. One of his early credits as a session musician was his synthesizer performance on Juice Newton’s albums Dirty Looks and Old Flame released in 1983 and 1985, respectively. His first major break came when he was chosen to co-write several songs on the Staying Alive soundtrack (1983) with Frank Stallone. Following his work on the Staying Alive project, he was recruited by Sylvester Stallone to write the original score for Rocky IV (1985), followed by scoring The Transformers: The Movie (1986).
DiCola performed some great instrumentals on The Transformers: The Movie Soundtrack which included “The Death of Optimus Prime”, “Escape”, and “Autobot/Decepticon Battle”. All great in their own way!
Stan Bush and Vince DiCola will be performing Saturday, March 14, 2026 at the world famous Whisky A Go Go, 8901 W Sunset Boulevard West Hollywood, CA 90069 to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Transformers The Movie (1986).
